To ensure a smooth transition for your new aquarium inhabitants, it is important to gradually acclimate them to the water conditions in your aquarium. Following these steps will help minimize stress and support the health of your fish.
Before introducing the new fish, switch off the aquarium lighting. This helps reduce stress during the acclimation process. Leave the lights off until all fish have been added and are behaving calmly.
Place the sealed fish transport bag in the aquarium and allow it to float on the water surface.
Carefully open the transport bag and secure it in an upright position inside the aquarium using a clamp or similar holder.
Add aquarium water to the bag in stages to slowly adjust the fish to the new water parameters:
Add aquarium water equal to approximately one-third of the water already in the bag.
Wait 10 minutes.
Add another portion of aquarium water.
Wait 10 minutes.
Add aquarium water a third time.
Wait an additional 10 minutes.
After the final waiting period, gently catch the fish with a net and carefully release them into the aquarium.
Do not pour the water from the transport bag into the aquarium. Dispose of the remaining water appropriately.
If necessary, refill the aquarium with fresh water. Using Sera Aquatan helps neutralize harmful substances while adding essential minerals to support a healthy aquatic environment.
The design and printing of the fish transport bags may vary from those shown in illustrations or product images.
