Magnesium is essential for the healthy development of marine invertebrates and ornamental algae. Calcareous red algae, in particular, require large amounts of magnesium to build and maintain their skeletons. Natural seawater contains approximately 1,300 mg/L of magnesium, and maintaining a similar level helps create stable, nature-like conditions in a marine aquarium.
During testing, Reagent 3 is added drop by drop as part of the complete Sera magnesium test procedure. The final magnesium result is calculated from the difference between the two measurements, with each remaining drop representing 60 mg/L of magnesium.
This refill pack contains three 15ml bottles, providing a total volume of 45ml and extending the use of your existing test kit without requiring a complete replacement set.
