Sera Phyto Med Protazid is a highly effective herbal remedy for treating a range of single-celled skin parasites on ornamental fish. Its powerful active ingredient is derived from naturally sourced cinchona bark (as quinine hydrochloride) and is effective against common and stubborn parasites like the "white spot" disease (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) as well as Costia, Chilodonella, and velvet disease (Piscinoodinium) in freshwater and marine aquariums .

The treatment is very well tolerated by ornamental fish, making it suitable for use in community aquariums. However, it is not tolerated by snails, other invertebrates, and many algae types. It is therefore recommended to treat severely infected fish in a separate quarantine tank to protect your invertebrate population .
