This high-performance sintered glass medium is specifically designed to provide an ideal settlement area for nitrifying bacteria. Its unique, three-dimensional tunnel structure with countless micro-pores offers an extremely high surface area, proven to achieve the highest nitrification performance by allowing maximum oxygen intake .
Unlike traditional filter materials, siporax creates oxygen-poor zones inside the tunnel structures. This encourages specific bacteria to break down nitrate, helping to keep your pond water low in harmful nitrates for a long time . The outer protective ball ensures the media remains durable and efficient even in filter systems with strong water agitation .
